Kevin Freitas
I really like what he has done with Feed Tacoma. Being able to make a site that is specifically for Tacoma and its bloggers by pulling their blogs and posting it on a single website is really amazing. There were a lot of things i liked on his site too. I really liked the random pictures, no real reason though.

Vanity Search
In Google, I had searched my name. Not surprisingly, my myspace link came up. However, there was another link that was about MESA (math, engineering, science, achievement) yearbook from 2001-02!!!! What's really weird is that I only went to one club meeting!!!! It's not the fact that I found myself in Google thats creeping me out... its the fact that something 5 years ago is saying I was part of that club! Too weird...

Guest Speaker
I thought it was cool how newspapers/blogs are focusing on local news since most newspapers talk about things internationally and what other news repeat. Mark Briggs also talked about newer ways to get some news like a website that lets you know where crimes are occurring so that you can avoid them, which is really funny and pretty sad at the same time. Podcasts of local areas also seems really cool since I never really see much news going on in Tacoma(or I haven't looked around much). Lately I've noticed that I have been paying attention to the news more then I used to... not by watching TV, but through the internet.

E-Mail similarities/Differences to real mail Thoughts
I've been using e-mail for as long as I can remember using the internet (9 years ish??) and I never thought that it mimicked the mailing system like it did. I thought it just sent the message to the person, but it goes through various servers before getting to its destination. It makes me wonder what else online mimics real life systems...
